MISS ARIZONA 2017
MaddieRose Holler, Miss Arizona 2017, is a journalism and mass communication major at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School and The Barrett Honors College. Inspired by her father’s 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy and her brother’s active duty service, completing two tours in Iraq and one Western Pacific Deployment, she embraced her service platform Supporting Our Military and Their Families. Working with a number of charitable organizations in the valley, she currently serves as President of Military Family Support Group, an Arizona 501c3 that is dedicated to assisting our nation’s troops by providing them with individually packed care packages as a symbol of the community’s gratitude, love, pride and patriotism. A trained vocalist, MaddieRose can speak a little bit of Tagalog, her Philippine mother’s native language, as she is half German and half Filipino.
MISS ARIZONA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN 2017
Dimon Sanders, Miss Arizona's Outstanding Teen 2017, is a 17 year-old high school senior and trained dancer from Marana. At age 9, she was placed in foster care as a result of abuse and neglect. After 13 different foster care placements, in December 2013, she met a family that changed everything; one year later, she was officially adopted and removed from the foster care system. It is now her mission to share her personal story by giving a voice and being an advocate for those in foster care, all while volunteering with organizations that offer support to children in the foster care system. For the past 3 years, she has been able to share her story with organizations such as La Paloma Family Services, I Am You 360, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), foster care panels, AzCA, and Foster & Adoptive Council of Tucson.
Dimon was recently honored as a finalist for the national Teens in Action Award for her dedicated service to children in foster care.
